Arusha is very close to Moshi town. Arusha is a door to Mount Meru trekking via Arusha National park which comprises of Momela Lakes with flamingos, birds, wildlife and a dense forest with flowing rivers. While in Arusha national park you can see the magnificent of clouds moving in horizon between Mount Meru and Mount Kilimanjaro, and the beautiful landscape. Moshi is where you can explore the tallest free standing mountain in Africa and other beautiful sceneries. Welcome for this kind of expedition and inquire a safari pertinent to your need. NB: We have special separate packages for the two mountains climbing according to specified days of hiking to the summit of mount Meru and Kilimanjaro. You can choose one of this mountain and we will arrange all the logistics for you. You can just inquire what you need. Mount Meru This is the fifth tallest mountain in African continent. It is 2,800 metres above the see level. It takes you three days to climb to the summit of mount Meru located in the center of Arusha National Park. On the way to the slopes of the mountain and inside the park, there is a good chance for you to spot animals and an armed ranger will accompany your party on the first stage to protect you against any wildlife threats. The trail follows the north rim of the crater, along a dramatic ridgeline. Mount Kilimanjaro Mount Kilimanjaro is the tallest mount on the African continent and the highest free standing mountain in the world. It is 5,895 metres above the sea level found in Tanzania as it represent freedom since the founding father of Tanzania plugged a national flag at the summit at the declaration of Independence in 1961. The universe of the mountain has the three volcanic cones; mawenzi, shira and kibo. According to geologists mawenzi and shira are extinct but kibo as the highest peak is dormant and it is said it could erupt again, perhaps in the future of the unknown years to come. It will take you seven days to climb Mount Kilimanjaro. We can create a wonderful itinerary and guides to take you to the summit to fulfill the freedom of human kind at the summit of the universe. Our optional itinerary of day trips in Arusha and Moshi is as follows;
Day 1 –> Arrival to Tanzania
Welcome to Tanzania. The driver will pick you up at the airport then drive you to Arusha or Moshi. Overnight at the hotel or lodge.
Day 2 –> Longido Mountain Trekking
After morning breakfast at the hotel in Arusha the driver will pick you up, load the vehicle with lunch boxes and drive to Longido district. This is a district found in the heart of Maasai land. Longido Mountain is a beautiful one to trek for a day and get chance to meet the Maasai in their bomas and share their culture and love of human kind. After the hike you will get chance to visit the indigenous Maasai in a boma and meet the elders and oloiboni, the spiritual leader to experience the guard narrative of the prophesy and elders wisdom. After the boma the driver will drive you back to Arusha. Dinner and overnight at hotel in Arusha.
Day 3 –> Kikuletwa Maji moto in Boma Ngo’mbe (Hot spring)
After a breakfast in Arusha, the driver will drive you towards Moshi and on the way you turn right in Boma ng’ombe town and drive on the rough road to a well-known chemka hot spring by locals. Here, you can load your lunch boxes or buy the local food at the spring. Sojourning chemka hot water spring is a very relaxing experience to you. At the spring you can spend as much time as you want in the water, to sooth your muscles after a long drive or trek of any mountain in northern Tanzania. Dinner and overnight in Moshi town.
Day 4 –> Marangu water fall and Cave
After the morning breakfast the driver will pick you and drive you to Marangu area near the foot of Mount Kilimanjaro. At this trip we can combine the short waterfall hike with a coffee tour or an exploration of the local Chagga cave system they used to hide their herds and themselves during the battles with neighboring tribes like the Maasai. We can set for you a full day of adventures before you as there are two waterfalls in the area and they can be visited in a day tour. You will have your lunch at the local restaurants in Marangu. Dinner and overnight in Marangu.
Day 5 –> Lake Chala
After the morning breakfast in Marangu the day is a traveling day to Lake Chala for almost one hour drive. This lake has beautiful fresh water and it borders Kenya and Tanzania near Kilimanjaro. You will explore the area with hikes at the lake and kayaking at the clear water, walking along the lake shore and birds watching. Lunch at the place of your overnight. Dinner and overnight at the lake shore.
Day 6 –> Lake Chala to Moshi
This is the last day of this exploration in northern Tanzania of Moshi and Arusha. You will have a good relaxing day in Moshi town. Later the driver will drive you to the airport for your flight back home.
